Adventure 03 — Itinerary

A Day on the Heritage Railway

A winter Sunday through jarrah forest aboard a restored steam locomotive. The train runs May–October only, making this the last adventure in this trio.

09:00 AM

Leave Perth

About 1.5 hours south to Dwellingup. I'll drive; snacks on the way.

10:30 AM

Arrive Dwellingup

Wander the town before departure. There's a small heritage museum and a few galleries near the station.

Maps
11:00 AM

Board the Steam Ranger

The heritage steam locomotive travels 14km through jarrah forest to Isandra Siding and back. Open-window carriages, green hills rolling by.

Maps
01:00 PM

Lunch in Dwellingup

Two excellent options on the same street, both with outdoor seating that's perfect for a dog in a backpack. I'll check what's open on the day.

02:30 PM

Forest Walk (optional)

A gentle stretch along one of the shorter Bibbulmun Track sections near town. Flat, well-maintained, and quiet.

03:30 PM

Head Home

Back to Perth early for a cosy night at home.

Three days. All planned. Nothing for you to organise.
Just say when you'd like each one, and Mark will make it happen.

Happy birthday Amberly. I love you.
